Privacy policy
Last updated 6 September 2026
This policy covers this licence portal and every product sold under the AC Software brand — currently Feathergrade and CADable — all operated by Antler Compass("we", "us"). It explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. Where a section applies to one product only, it says so.
1. What we collect
- Email address. Collected at purchase (from Stripe checkout) or when you submit feedback with an address attached, or are issued a beta key. It identifies your account, is where we send licence keys, sign-in codes and, where relevant, replies to support requests, and is the only thing we ask you to hand over to buy or activate a licence.
- Device identifier. When you activate a licence, the app reads a hardware-derived identifier from your machine (on macOS, the platform UUID; on Windows, the machine GUID) and sends it to us once, salted and hashed with a secret we hold — we never receive or store the raw identifier. The hash lets us enforce the seat limit on your licence (for example, two Macs for a two-seat Feathergrade licence) and lets you release a specific device from your account. It cannot be reversed back into the original hardware identifier, and it is not linked to any other account or service.
- App version and check-ins.The app periodically validates its licence with our server (roughly daily for a beta key, every two weeks for a paid one) and sends its version number and operating system so we can enforce the licence's update window and know which versions are still in use in aggregate. A check-in does not send anything about the documents, photos or projects you have open.
- Feedback and its attachments. If you send feedback (a bug report, idea, question or crash report) from inside the app or through the Portal, we collect what you write, the reference it is filed under, your email address if you gave one, and anything you choose to attach — a screenshot, a log file, or (for CADable) a project file or manifest you attach to help us reproduce an issue. We do not collect these automatically; they are only sent when you choose to send a report, and log content is scrubbed for obvious secrets (API keys, tokens) before storage on a best-effort basis, but you should still avoid attaching anything sensitive you would not want a support engineer to see.
- Payment information. Handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor — we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the billing email, but never your full card number.
- Ordinary web logs. Standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested path) for the Portal, kept briefly for security and abuse prevention (for example, rate limiting).
2. Feathergrade: your images stay on your machine
Feathergrade edits photos locally on your Mac. The one exception is its generative editing features (generative fill, inpaint, outpaint and similar), which require sending the relevant image region to an AI image-generation endpoint to produce the result — and that only happens using the API key and endpoint you configure yourself, directly with your own account at that provider. Antler Compass does not operate that endpoint, does not receive a copy of the image sent to it, and cannot see the result. Outside of that feature, your photos, edits and projects never leave your Mac and are never sent to us.
Where Feathergrade calls a Google API on your behalf (for example, for a Google-provided image model you have configured), that use is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy for that API, in addition to this one; Feathergrade attributes that use in-app and in its documentation as Google's terms require.
3. CADable
CADable's own project files and geometry are not sent to us in ordinary use — the device identifier, app version and licence check-ins described above are the only routine data CADable's licensing sends. If you attach a project file to a feedback report to help us reproduce an issue, section 1's "feedback and its attachments" applies to it, and we only use it to diagnose that report.
4. Why we collect it
Every category above exists to run the licence you bought: to issue and validate a key, to enforce the seats and update window it came with, to let you manage it from your account, to respond to support requests, and to keep the Portal secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors to run the Portal and the Products: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Supabase (database hosting). Each only receives what it needs to do that job, under its own data-processing terms with us. We do not otherwise share personal data with third parties, except where required by law.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account and licence data for as long as the account exists, and feedback reports and their attachments for as long as they remain useful for support and product development. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time — see Your rights below — subject to what we need to keep for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, tax records, or an unresolved support case.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict some of our processing of it. To exercise any of these, write to the support address for the product you use, from the email address on your account so we can verify the request.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update the "last updated" date above whenever this policy changes, and for a material change we will make a reasonable effort to tell existing customers by email.
